Borr’s Saga set to start drilling in Malaysia

Borr’s Saga jackup rig has departed from Singapore for a drilling campaign for PTTEP in Malaysia.

Vertical Well has learned that the rig is set for an HPHT drilling campaign, offshore Sarawak. This first of Borr drilling’s five Keppel FELS Super B Bigfoot Class unit has previously arrived in Singapore after completed a campaign in Vietnam.

Built in 2017, Saga is capable operating in 400 feet water depth and drilling up to 35,000ft. With a two million pound drilling system and a maximum combined cantilever load of 3,700 kips, this KFELS Super B Class is equipped with tremendous horsepower during drilling operations.

Earlier in August, we reported that Borr Drilling has managed to secure two new drilling contract, namely for Saga and Gunnlod, both for PTTEP Malaysia. Meanwhile ROC Oil have rescinded previously announced notices of early termination of Borr’s Mist.
